Floating Away

Standing still in a
resemblance of a
pole where a flag
hangs from.

Storm after storm
which tries strenuously
to rock the ground
where I am standing;
I remained motionless
until my screws gradually
unscrewed itself.

I didn’t notice – wait,
perhaps I did but maybe,
just maybe
I was too bullheaded and
pretentious and
imaginably coward.

I am caught in the middle,
middle of nowhere.

I am indecisive about
leaving because
I am fastened
here in between
life and death.
